Global safety guide

Before you click,
make the pressure visible.

Suspicious messages often borrow trust, urgency, or fear. Use this short checklist to create space for an independent decision.

Check a redacted message

A five-minute pause

Five steps before you act.

01

Stop the momentum

Do not click the supplied link, call the number shown, send a code, or move money while the request is creating pressure.

02

Name the request

Is it asking for money, credentials, secrecy, remote access, or an unusual change of payment details? Say the request plainly.

03

Use a known route

Open the official app yourself, type the known website address, or call a number already saved in your contacts.

04

Ask someone outside the story

Share a redacted summary with a trusted person. A second perspective helps when the message is trying to isolate you.

05

Protect the evidence

Keep usernames, links, payment instructions, and timestamps, but redact passwords, one-time codes, identity documents, and private addresses.

Choose the safer default

If you cannot independently verify the sender and destination, pause. A legitimate request can survive a verification step.

Need a second look?

Use the first check with private details removed.
